Arrival information
There are two options:
- 1. Contact your hotel and ask for a van service from the hotel. If you decide on this option there will have a person waiting for you at the airport. This should around US 22.
- 2. You can also get a taxi after picking up your luggage: take the right-hand side exit, turn right and follow a sign that says "Taxis autorizados". You have to pay for the taxi in Colombian pesos, there are exchange offices in the airport located just after you collect your luggage. If you do this, do not change too much money at the airport, the exchange rate is better in the city. The taxi costs around US 10-12.

- La Candelaria is a historic neighborhood in Bogotá's downtown, it's the equivalent to the Old City in other cities. It houses several universities (including Los Andes University), libraries and museums. The architecture of the old houses, churches and buildings has Spanish Colonial, Baroque and art deco styles, which makes this a unique place to visit. The Quevedo brook plaza (Plaza del Chorro de Quevedo) is one of its main attractions.

The permanent exhibition is a representative sample of the life and works of the cultures which worked metals in the Colombian territory of today from about 2500 years ago. It is located at Carrera 6 # 15-82, next to Parque Santander.
- The Botero Museum (Museo Botero) houses one of Latin America's most important international art collections. All of its pieces, from the permanent collection, were donated by Fernando Botero in the year 2000, where most of them are from his own making and the other ones are from other international artists. It is located in the neighborhood of La Candelaria at Calle 11 # 4-41 and is open to the public free of charge.
- The Bolívar Square (Plaza de Bolívar) is the main square of Bogotá. It is located in the historical area of the city (La Candelaria) and hosts a statue of Simón Bolívar which was the first public monument of the city. This square is surrounded by historical buildings; the Palace of Justice is located on the northern edge and the National Capitol borders the square in the south. The Primary Cathedral of Bogotá and the Liévano Palace, seat of the mayor of Bogotá, are situated on the eastern and western side respectively. Close to this place, at Calle 11 #6-50 (located at the north side of the cathedral) you can find a restaurant called La Puerta Falsa, where you can have some traditional Colombian food.
- Monserrate is a mountain that dominates the city center of Bogotá. It rises to 3125m above the sea level (500m above Bogotá), where there is a church. The summit also contains restaurants, cafeteria, souvenir shops and many smaller tourist facilities. It can be accessed by aerial tramway, a funicular or by climbing.
